We started the day at 11 am this morning, on the Little Susitna River and the weather was great, as you can see. We had 3 anglers on board. We fished for 2 hours and got our first hook up, it peeled some line off the reel, and it was gone. Same with our second hookup. The rod was hit, peeled off some line, and gone.
Towards the end of trip, we got another hook up. This fish did not want to come in. Chris fought this King Salmon for about 10-15 minutes. Finally, the fish wore out and we netted this 19 pound Alaska King Salmon. It was chrome bright and full of sea lice. A very fresh fish.
The weather was in the mid 60's and it was just a perfect day for fishing. We saw bald eagles, a lot of ducks, a bull moose, and a cow and calf.
