With over 30 years experience, Lead Fishing Guide Ray Blodgett and his Coast Guard-licensed crew, feel privileged to have been able to spend decades becoming familiar with three of the most fertile salmon fishing rivers in the world; the Little Susitna River, the Deshka River and the Talkeetna River, all located in the Matanuska Valley of south central Alaska. They know where to go! They know where the seasonal hot spots are and how to safely get you there. Alaska Fishing Report 05/12/11

I wasn't able to get this report up yesterday, but yes, it is for May 12, 2011
We left the Talkeetna boat launch around 8 am and the skies were clear blue with a breeze.

We had a fly fisherman and a fisherman using spinning gear.

The fly fisherman was using dolly llama, flesh flies and some leech flies and was doing pretty good with the dolly varden, but no rainbow trout were hitting on these flies.

The spinning gear fisherman was using blue vibrax and was doing very well with dolly varden and was able to land rainbow trout as well.

The weather was just outstanding and the fishing was pretty darn good!!!!
