With over 30 years experience, Lead Fishing Guide Ray Blodgett and his Coast Guard-licensed crew, feel privileged to have been able to spend decades becoming familiar with three of the most fertile salmon fishing rivers in the world; the Little Susitna River, the Deshka River and the Talkeetna River, all located in the Matanuska Valley of south central Alaska. They know where to go! They know where the seasonal hot spots are and how to safely get you there. And every day that Fisherman’s Choice Charters is fishing on one or more of these pristine waterways, a complete and accurate fishing report will be provided to our clients. . Alaska Fishing Report 05/15/11

The day started at 530 am with 3 anglers on the Little Susitna River Launch.
We started fishing at 6 am and a few hours into the trip one of anglers hooked onto a  King Salmon but was lost after about 15 seconds.
An hour later, our second angler hooked onto a King Salmon and fought it for about 10 minutes.
It circled the boat twice and ran up and down the river a few times.
Right when we got it to the boat, it spit the hook, but not before we all got to see it.
It looked like a 25-28 pound hen.
We know now the fish are starting to show and are slowly moving into the Little Susitna River
down at Point Mackenzie.
Hopefully this is a good sign for a decent run this year.
