With over 30 years experience, Lead Fishing Guide Ray Blodgett and his Coast Guard-licensed crew, feel privileged to have been able to spend decades becoming familiar with three of the most fertile salmon fishing rivers in the world; the Little Susitna River, the Deshka River and the Talkeetna River, all located in the Matanuska Valley of south central Alaska. They know where to go! They know where the seasonal hot spots are and how to safely get you there. And every day that Fisherman’s Choice Charters is fishing on one or more of these pristine waterways, a complete and accurate fishing report will be provided to our clients. . Alaska Fishing Report 05/19/11

Today started around 9:30 am with 5 anglers on the Little Susitna River.
It was cool and cloudy with a chance of rain.
Thankfully the rain decided not to show.
After 3 hours of back trolling we got a couple bites but didn't hook any of them.
Fished a couple more holes and got a bite and hooked into this bright chrome 33 pound King Salmon!
This fish literally yanked Mel out of his chair.
He fought it for about 15 minutes with the fish running up and down river,
screaming through the water.

Another Filet and Release tail of  King Salmon on the Little Susitna River.
