Alaska Fishing Report 05/20/11

Today we met 3 anglers at 5:30
this morning at the Little Susitna River Launch.
We started trolling about 2 miles below the launch and
hooked onto a nice Kng Salmon.
Our angler hooked onto a fish, but it was tangled with another line.
He was able to fight this fish for about 5 minutes before the hooks on the other line cut his line.
It was a pretty big fish. But no cigar.

About an hour after we lost the first fish, another angler hooked onto a King Salmon and he fought it for 10 minutes. This fish ran into the brush a couple times, but we were able to pull it back out of the brush. We got the net out and netted this beauty. Not bad for an 11 year old angler fishing in Alaska!
He is definitely hooked on fishing after landing this big 36 pound King Salmon on the Little Susitna River.

Not too long after we hooked the first King Salmon, we got onto another. This fish peeled a lot of line off the reel. It ran up and down the river, along side the boat, back and forth, after about 15 minutes our angler fighting this fish, we netted the King Salmon and brought him on board.
This King Salmon weighed in at 42 pounds. What a monster. This is a big fish for this time of year and the the angler was proud to have caught it.
Just can't beat a good fight on the river with a King Salmon this big.

This family has some good anglers in it now, and know how to hook and fight these King Salmon that Alaska has to offer.
Good Job Andreasen Crew!!
